Resolution 25-03A

WHEREAS, Saskatchewan Agriculture, Food and Rural Revitalization (SAFRR) administers leases of Crown land in the province; and

WHEREAS, on some of these lands there are roads which are not registered; and

WHEREAS, the public requires these roads and want to have continued unrestricted use of the same;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that SARM lobby SAFRR to ensure that the public's right to unrestricted use of such roads is recognized in such leases.

Response from the Honourable Clay Serby, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Revitalization:

SAFFR will make Crown lands available for Saskatchewan Highways and Transportation, and for all municipalities for road construction. In order to have these lands removed from the agricultural lease, they must be surveyed and registered with the Department of Highways and Transportation. Unregistered roads and trails may continue to be used with lessees' consent.
