Responses From: The Ministry of Government Relations

The ministry has undertaken a redesign of Road Maintenance Agreement rates and policy. GR has consulted extensively and appreciates stakeholders' participation and patience as we continue to work towards solutions that work for everyone involved.

In the interest of making immediate progress, we anticipate updating the rates as soon as January 1, 2020.

Government is also considering amendments to The Municipalities Act to incorporate new reporting elements and provisions that strengthen consistency, accountability and transparency.
