SARM will hold its Midterm Convention on November 13 and 14 at Queensbury Convention Centre in Regina. The Midterm Convention traditionally coined as a working convention will host multiple workshops and learning opportunities for delegates.
SARM President Ray Orb will kick off the convention with the President’s Address at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13. Minister of Government Relations, Honourable Lori Carr and Minister of Agriculture, Honourable David Marit will bring greetings to delegates at 9:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. respectively. Recipients of the Saskatchewan Municipal Awards will be recognized at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13 prior to the breakout sessions. SARM members will debate and vote on resolutions at 3:30 p.m.
On Thursday, November 14, Minister of Highways and Infrastructure, Honourable Greg Ottenbreit will address delegates at 9:30 a.m. Followed by a Rural Crime Prevention Panel with the RCMP and Ministry of Corrections and Policing staff. Workshops will once again be available in the morning and repeated in the afternoon. Thursday afternoon will also host a presentation from STARS as well as youth 4-H speakers.
Over the course of two days, convention delegates will have the opportunity to take in workshops related to code of ethics/conflict resolution, workplace harassment, understanding the risks of employee misconduct, asset management, intensive livestock operations and a safety panel with the Saskatchewan Safety Council and Saskatchewan Common Ground Alliance.
