Equipment Operator

The R.M. of Orkney No. 244 is seeking applications for a full time experienced and enthusiastic Equipment Operator to join our team.

Responsibilities include:

• Grader
• Backhoe work
• Ditch mowing
• Tractor work
• General physical labour
• Maintenance of equipment and other duties as directed.

Requirements:

• Be able to work under direction and with others,
• Must have the physical stamina to complete laboured tasks and be able to work outside in all weather conditions,
• Must be of sound mind and body with the ability to lift up to 50lbs.,
• Must be able to work flexible hours depending on weather conditions and scope of work,
• Must have willingness and aptitude to operate RM machinery including but not limited to grader/snow plow, backhoe, tractor/mower, sander/salter,
• Must have knowledge of servicing and maintaining various equipment,
• Must have experience and knowledge of maintaining and repairing roads,
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment,
• Have good record keeping and time management skills and willingness to follow directions,
• Must be willing to complete operator certificate as per The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 1996 and be safety conscious with an attention to detail and
• Must have a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.
