WHEREAS the numbered highways within the Province which are under the control of the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure (MHI) are a notorious place for foreign weeds to start and spread; and

WHEREAS even weeds that are not listed as noxious can be problematic to our Agricultural producers; and

WHEREAS often the ditches are not mowed until after the weeds have gone to seed, ever multiplying the problem;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure to test different methods, both chemical and non-chemical, to create a management practice to mitigate weed establishment in the right-of-ways.
