WHEREAS SARM is a recognized stakeholder with the Wildlife Advisory Group to determine season dates and harvest limits;

WHEREAS the only species of migratory birds allowed during spring hunting season is Snow Geese;

WHEREAS the populations of Canada Geese and Sandhill Cranes are nesting more frequently in local areas and not making their way further north to nest;

WHEREAS these birds are grazing crops as they emerge in the spring and throughout the growing season;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby the federal and provincial governments to allow for the spring hunting of Canada Geese and Sandhill Cranes;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED there be no limit on the bag and possession limits for Snow Geese, Canada Geese, or Sandhill Cranes during spring hunting.
