WHEREAS RMs are responsible for maintaining the roads necessary to access reserve lands resulting from Specific Land Claims; and

WHEREAS funds received by RMs from the Trust Fund established by the Rural Municipal Specific Claims Agreement are no longer sufficient to allow RMs to upkeep the access roads without putting additional burden on other ratepayers;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM investigate opportunities to increase amounts paid to RMs for taxes lost as a result of Specific Land Claims.
