WHEREAS delays in SAMA operations and shortage of staffing levels of assessors at the regional offices had caused holdups in numerous municipalities assessment processing in 2017, as well as in previous years;

WHEREAS these holdups are expensive in municipal office time, scheduling and have even resulted in costly municipal boards of revisions fees that could have been avoided if assessments were rolled out in a timely fashion;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby the provincial government to invest more money into SAMA with the intent to better their staffing requirements and capabilities in order to avoid these costly issues that download onto municipalities.
