WHEREAS grain producers are facing many challenges with 2016 harvest and many groups have been severely downgraded to the point they are in a negative position for coverage provided by Saskatchewan Crop Insurance; and

WHEREAS Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC) will not test for vomitoxin in duram wheat; and

WHEREAS SCIC has samples which represent a cross section of all grains grown in Saskatchewan; and

WHEREAS producers are incurring costs to have third-party tests on their grains in order to market their crops;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation to grade crop samples to the level and criteria demanded by the buyers of grains grown by Saskatchewan producers, over and above those required by the Canadian Grains Commission so it can be fairly represented to our global customers.
