Point of Privilege Resolution No. 3-01M

WHEREAS, elected officials have recently been prosecuted for actions taken in the interests of ratepayers; and

WHEREAS, the cost of defending such prosecutions, as well as the fines, can be significant; and

WHEREAS, the SARM Liability Self-Insurance Plan does not provide coverage for such costs or fines;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the SARM board look into amending the policy to provide such coverage, provided the insured were acting in good faith, in the interests of the ratepayers and not for personal gain, and that the coverage be effective as soon as possible. (November 8, 2001)
