WHEREAS zebra mussels and quagga mussels have been found in nearby jurisdictions, including Manitoba and Minnesota, and are easily transported on water crafts and spread to other nearby lakes and streams.
WHEREAS zebra mussels are known to destroy the ecosystems of the bodies of water that they invade.
WHEREAS there is no known fix once zebra mussels become established in a body of water.
BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby the federal government to lead the fight to prevent the spread of zebra and quagga mussels throughout Saskatchewan waters.
