WHEREAS the provincial government and SARM have been promoting the Rural Crime Watch program to provide new eyes and ears to the RCMP;

WHEREAS it has been proven that these organizations have helped the RCMP apprehend persons involved in criminal activities in the rural areas of the province;

WHEREAS Rural Crime Watch organizations need to make people aware that they are in an area where they are being watched by installing signs along highways and major roads;

WHEREAS Rural Crime Watch signs can only be installed along the back slope of provincial highways which does not make them as noticeable;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby the provincial government to allow Rural Crime Watch signs to be installed along the top edge of highways the same as the traffic guidance signs are.
