WHEREAS beavers are a growing concern for municipalities as they damage infrastructure;
WHEREAS the Beaver Steering Committee was developed and represents a coalition of RMs, associations and government;
WHEREAS the committee identified actions that would assist municipalities;
BE IT RESOLVED that a special permit for nuisance wildlife control be made available to allow control of beavers 250 metres upstream or downstream from the infrastructure or field threatened by beavers and for up to 500 metres during the period from June 1 to September 30; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Beaver Management in Provincial Parks Program (BMPP) be reinstated.
