WHEREAS First Nations are purchasing taxable RM farmland at an increasing rate for TLE and specific land claims; and

WHEREAS this land is no longer under RM taxability yet the RM still delivers fire services, garbage services and road maintenance; and

WHEREAS compensation from the SARM Compensation Fund for TLE claims is diminishing and will eventually run out;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby the Provincial Government to limit First Nations purchases of RM land to no more than 10% of taxable lands; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that service agreements, such as road maintenance, fire services and garbage services, on lands already purchased receive compensation for services rendered.
