WHEREAS fires caused by SaskPower overhead lines occur each year; and

WHEREAS SaskPower is very strict as to what costs they are willing to cover; and

WHEREAS the cost of fire protection falls on the local fire departments, land owners and municipalities;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby SaskPower to adopt a fair compensation policy that compensates fire departments for services rendered, whether or not there was negligence by SaskPower.
