Whereas SARM has a federal lobbyist to lobby for issues that are important to rural Saskatchewan; and 

Whereas support for the SARM federal lobbyist is a voluntary contribution; and  

Whereas not all municipalities contribute but all benefit from the successful efforts that are achieved; and 

Whereas with full participation by all rural municipalities, the federal lobbyist could be more effective; 

Be it Resolved that SARM make the federal lobbyist contribution part of the membership fee. 

Response from SARM:

Effective 2010 the cost of the federal lobbyist will be part of the annual budget of SARM.
