Bridge End Hazard Marker Placement

Res #: 50-16A
Number: 50
Year: 2016
Midterm: No
Expired: No
Responses Received: No

WHEREAS bridge end hazard markers are recommended to be placed directly in front  of rural bridge abutments (with the posts placed one meter in the ground and one  meter above); and

WHEREAS the increase in the size of equipment traveling down municipal roads has  contributed to the challenge of keeping these hazard markers posted on bridges;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby the Provincial Government to review the  current  regulations and lower the existing height of bridge signs to the maximum height of the  bridge railing.
