WHEREAS the Government of Saskatchewan eliminated the Beaver Management in Provincial Parks Program in the 2017-18 budget;
WHEREAS many provincial parks have high beaver populations and RMs bordering these provincial parks have an ongoing influx of beavers that cause unexpected and costly damage within their municipal boundaries;
BE IT RESOVLED that SARM lobby the Government of Saskatchewan to reinstate the Beaver Management in Provincial Parks Program in the 2018-19 budget to assist in reducing the overpopulation of beavers in provincial parks, and therefore reduce the financial burden of beaver damage to surrounding municipalities.
