Amendment to SARM Bylaw No. 4

Res #: 1-09A
Number: 1
Year: 2009
Midterm: No
Expired: Yes
Responses Received: No
Departments: Matters Pertaining to SARM

WHEREAS the SARM bylaws currently call for resolutions to the Annual Convention to be “in the office of the Association by January 15th”; and

WHEREAS the reason for this early deadline has been to allow for printing and distribution to rural municipalities prior to the convention to provide sufficient time for review by councils; and

WHEREAS convention resolutions are now posted on the SARM website and no longer distributed in printed form prior to the convention, so an early deadline is no longer critical; and

WHEREAS a later deadline would provide the increased opportunity for rural municipalities to submit resolutions;

BE IT RESOLVED that Subsection 5 of SARM Bylaw No. 4 be amended by removing “January 15th” and replacing it with “February 14th”.

Background:
Amendments to SARM Bylaws require approval of two-thirds majority.

Response from SARM:

Bylaw has been amended as per resolution.
