SARM Annual Convention March 9-12, 2020

SARM’s 115th Annual Convention will take place this week from March 9 to 12 at Evraz Place in Regina.

The tradeshow and convention registration will open on Monday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m.

Opening ceremonies commence on Tuesday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m. The Honourable Lori Carr, Minister of Government Relations will address the delegates at 10:50 a.m., followed by an address by His Worship, Mayor Michael Fougere. SARM President Ray Orb will speak just before noon. The Honourable Andrew Scheer, Leader of the Canadian Conservative Party and the Official Opposition will address attendees in the main convention hall at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon hosts two dialogues sessions with provincial cabinet ministers. The afternoon will close with debating the submitted resolutions.

Wednesday, March 11 will welcome the Honourable Scott Moe, Premier of Saskatchewan address at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Bear Pit session with the provincial cabinet. A panel to talk about rural broadband will take us to noon. Keynote speaker Claude Elliot, Retired Mayor of Gander, NL will take the stage at 3:15 p.m.

The final day of the convention will begin Thursday, March 12 at 8:00 a.m. with the financial report presented by SARM Executive Director Jay Meyer. Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Ryan Meili will give an address at 9:30 a.m. The morning will also include presentations from the RCMP, a 4-H Youth Panel and STARS. Convention will conclude on Thursday at noon.

Over the course of four days, convention delegates will have the opportunity to hear from and dialogue with elected officials, attend workshops, network and debate resolutions.
