WHEREAS Section 15 of The Saskatchewan Municipalities Association Act states “the corporation may make bylaws and rules for the government and proper administration of its property, affairs and interests, including the election, appointment, removal and retirement of officers, or of any persons holding office under the corporation and generally for the management and internal government of its affairs.”

WHEREAS the SARM currently has four bylaws in place including a bylaw with respect to SARM membership, a bylaw with respect to the election and appointment of officer, a bylaw with respect to the Board of Directors, and a bylaw with respect to conventions;

WHEREAS there is overlap between the four bylaws which makes them difficult to interpret;

BE IT RESOLVED that the content of the four current SARM bylaws be more effectively consolidated into one Governance Bylaw, as presented to delegates as Bylaw 2016-1.
