WHEREAS many foremen are not formally trained in proper communication and employee management; and

WHEREAS rural municipalities and their employees would benefit from the foreman having training in employee management and effective communication skills geared toward working in municipalities; and

WHEREAS a mentorship program for newly hired foremen with no previous supervisory skills would provide them an opportunity to mentor with an experienced foreman in another municipality;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM provide additional workshops for foremen in communication and employee management geared toward working in municipalities during the Annual Convention; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that SARM research the potential of establishing a mentorship program for foremen.
