WHEREAS the Clearing the Path Primary Weight Corridor Program funding has not been increased since the program began; and

WHEREAS the cost of maintaining these heavy haul roads has steadily increased every year;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby the Government of Saskatchewan to update the funding level for the Clearing the Path Primary Weight Corridor Program to match the maintenance cost increases.

Response from Honourable Don McMorris, Minister of Highways and Infrastructure:

The Ministry will ask the Municipal Roads for the Economy Program -Program Management Board (MREP PMB) to review the $1,000/km maintenance grant provided for Clearing the Path corridors and to provide recommended changes as part of the MREP project submission.
