The Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, the Honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield, will be presenting a public service award, sponsored by SaskPower, at the 2015 SARM Annual Convention.
The Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Outstanding Service in Rural Saskatchewan is awarded to a reeve, councillor, or administrator for his or her lifetime contribution to rural Saskatchewan. This award will be presented to the successful candidate on March 10, 2015, at the Tuesday morning opening ceremonies of convention in Saskatoon. This forum provides an excellent opportunity to publicly recognize the recipient of this prestigious award.
The selection committee reviews all nominations, no longer reserved for retirees, and selects one individual who has not yet been formally recognized for his or her exemplary contributions in making rural Saskatchewan a better place to live. The committee includes representatives from the following organizations: SARM, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, the Lieutenant Governor’s Office, and the Rural Municipal Administrators’ Association.
If your RM wishes to nominate a reeve, councillor, or administrator for this award, nominations should be sent to the SARM office by January 31, 2015. Please include the following information:
– completed nomination form; and
– biographical information based on the enclosed nomination guidelines.
In the past, the selection committee has found it beneficial when applications clearly demonstrate how the nominee went over-and-above the call of duty to make a contribution to their community.
