The Rural Integrated Roads for Growth program has replaced the Municipal Roads for the Economy Program.

 RIRG

  • Funding will be provided for roads, bridges and large diameter culverts
  • Bridges will continue to be inspected on a three-year rotation
  • Rural Road Traffic Count’s will work towards a three year rotation
  • Introduction of a four-year rolling cap (Suspended for 2020-21 and 2021-22)
  • Electronic applications for road and bridge/culvert projects will be kept on file and eligible for three years

 Road Construction Program

  • The Clearing the Path construction and Heavy Haul High Volume roads construction programs combined in the Road Construction Program
  • Eligible projects must be a Rural Road Classification 1 to 6 or located on a CTP corridor
  • Funding cap of $500,000.00 per RM, per project, per year for Road Construction projects
  • Asphalt surfacing will not be an eligible expense
  • All projects will have two-years to be completed
