The Rural Municipality of Lacadena No. 228 is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Foreman. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to lead a dedicated public works team in a progressive and welcoming rural community.
As Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the RM’s maintenance and construction projects, including road grading, road graveling, equipment maintenance, culvert installations, and general infrastructure care. This hands-on leadership role is key to keeping our RM running smoothly and safely for residents and visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate municipal work crews and equipment
- Schedule, plan, and report on road and infrastructure maintenance
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards
- Participate in the creation of an annual operations budget and capital plan
- Maintain accurate logs and communicate with the RM CAO and Council
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Previous experience in road construction or heavy equipment operation (municipal experience an asset)
- Record keeping skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1A preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting ability
- Knowledge of RM operations and rural road maintenance is highly desirable
