WHEREAS the Dundurn Military Base separates the west side of the RM of Dundurn from the east side; and

WHEREAS an Order in Council 573/54 closed all road allowances inside the base providing that one road remain open for the public to cross the base; and

WHEREAS in October 2014 the Base Commander closed the road indefinitely; and

WHEREAS an access road is essential for public safety, emergency services, fire protection and RM maintenance equipment; and

WHEREAS an access road is essential for the RMs, Towns, Villages, and Whitecap Dakota First Nation to support social and economic development in the region;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby the Minister of Highways and Infrastructure and the Minister of Justice, and the Federal Minister of National Defence and Minister of Public Safety to work with the regional stakeholders in a timely manner to resolve this issue.
