WHEREAS the need for trees for shelterbelts has and will continue to be valuable to the prairies; and

WHEREAS in the past few years thousands of trees have been destroyed by flooding and winds; and

WHEREAS population growth is being experienced in Saskatchewan with new acreages and farm yards; and

WHEREAS the probability of the Federal Government reversing its decision is low;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM be ready to implement a steering committee in conjunction with Manitoba and Alberta to form a cooperative to acquire the tree nursery and operate it at a full cost recovery coop.
