WHEREAS the council of the RM of Duck Lake No. 463 is concerned about hte lack of Provincial legislation governing pocket gophers and the destruction to land and equipment; and

WHEREAS there is a great potential for negative impact to the environment as well as agriculture producers within municipalities where these infestations occur; and

WHEREAS there is already evidence that pocket gopher populations are causing losses to agriculture producers and causing concerns in other regions of the province;

BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby the Provincial Government to provide for legislation to have pocket gophers included in The Pest Control Act.
