SARM will hold its 106th Annual Convention next week from March 7 – 10, at the Prairieland Park Trade and Convention Centre, in Saskatoon. This is the first year that the convention will be held at this venue; we anticipate a successful event, with over 160 exhibitors confirmed for the tradeshow, opening Monday at 7:00pm.
The convention officially opens Tuesday, March 8, at 10:00 a.m. The Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, His Honour the Honourable Dr. Gordon Barnhart, will provide the opening address and will present the Award for Outstanding Service to Rural Saskatchewan during the opening ceremonies.
Later that morning, President David Marit will give his annual address to the delegates. In the afternoon, at 4:30 p.m., the Minister of Municipal Affairs, Honourable Darryl Hickie, is scheduled to address the delegates.
On the morning of Wednesday, March 11, at 9:00 a.m., Deputy Premier Ken Krawetz will give an address, which will be immediately followed by the bear pit session held with the provincial cabinet ministers.
The elections for association president and vice-president will take place on the morning of Thursday, March 10. An address to the delegates by the Minister of Highways and Infrastructure, Honourable Jim Reiter, is scheduled for 1:20 p.m. Division Meetings and corresponding elections will be held at 2:30 p.m.
