WHEREAS First Nation Bands that utilize off-reserve Health Care Facilities are unable to assign certain types of federal funding towards a portion of the local share of funding required for a capital health facility project;
BE IT RESOLVED that SARM lobby the appropriate level of government to allow First Nation Bands the option to contribute funding towards the required local contribution of an off- reserve capital Health Care Facility project.

With respect to Resolution No. 31 – 14A and the option of First Nations contributing funding towards off-reserve capital health care facility projects, this matter does not fall under the purview of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada.
I am therefore forwarding our exchange of correspondence to the Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Health, regarding this specific health-related resolution.
