SARM Midterm Convention – November 9 & 10, 2016
SARM will hold its Midterm Convention next week on November 9 & 10 at TCU Place in Saskatoon.
SARM President Ray Orb will kick off the Convention with the President’s Address at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9. The Honourable Donna Harpauer will address SARM delegates as the Minister of Government Relations for the first time at 10:15 a.m.
Recipients of the Saskatchewan Municipal Awards will be recognized at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9. SARM members will then have the chance to debate and vote on resolutions at 3:00 p.m.
On Thursday, November 10, Federation of Canadian Municipalities President Clark Somerville will address delegates at 9:45 a.m., followed by Minister of Environment Scott Moe at 10:00 a.m. Also on the agenda for Thursday are presentations from SARM’s Planning and Policy Departments, SGI, the Saskatchewan Association of Municipal Enforcement Officers, STARS, and the RCMP.
Over the course of two days, convention delegates will have the opportunity to take in five workshops, focusing on conflict of interest, traffic safety, insurance valuations, preventing agricultural accidents, and harassment in the workplace.
