Safety Manuals and Programs
SARM explored options to develop a “Safety Program Template” for RMs to use when implementing their own Safety Programs and Manuals to appease the OH&S regulations contained in the Saskatchewan Employment Act.
In 2016 SARM contracted the Saskatchewan Safety Council to draft a fully editable Safety Manual Template for RMs to use as a guide when drafting a Safety Manual for their RM.
In 2017 we had a small test group of RMs review the template and provide feedback. The editable versions of the template manual are now available for RMs to utilize.
SARM would like to encourage RMs that want additional assistance with Safety Training or Planning to consider becoming a member of the Saskatchewan Safety Council. They are a great resource for all things safety and well versed in the legislation and requirements in Saskatchewan. Please see their website to find out more about what they offer and how to become a member.
The Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities is continuing to support our members in every way possible. We’ve provided the following links and contacts as a resource to accurate and timely information. Please also feel free to contact SARM via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or phone: (306) 757-3577 for ongoing updates as they relate to Covid-19 or SARM business.
