Equipment Operators

The RM of LeRoy, No. 339 (RM) is accepting applications for 2 Full Time Equipment Operators.

The RM has an experienced crew that performs a wide variety of construction related tasks, year-round, to provide excellent service to its ratepayers and the motoring traffic, under the direction of the foreman.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Operating heavy equipment (including but not limited to grader, backhoe, caterpillar, skid-steer, tractor) to complete year-round road maintenance, construction and mowing;
• Stockpiling and spreading gravel on to municipal roads;
• Servicing and general maintenance of equipment;
• Manual labor as needed; and
• Other duties assigned by the foreman to meet the ongoing needs of the RM.

The successful candidate must have:

• Previous experience operating heavy equipment;
• Mechanical skills;
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence;
• Class 1A drivers licence (considered and asset);
• Ability to follow instruction, work independently and as a team member;
• Ability to work outdoors in all-weather conditions, extended hours including some weekends;
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees, council and the public.
