Department: Matters Pertaining to SARM
WHEREAS all municipalities utilize personnel, equipment and machinery to fulfill their responsibilities, duties and objectives;
WHEREAS as per Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) statistics, the WCB Rate Code G31, encompassing RMs, had the second highest number of claims registered in 2018;
WHEREAS all Saskatchewan employers and supervisors have legislated obligations to ensure the health, safety and welfare of their workers, as defined in The Saskatchewan Employment Act and The Occupational Health & Safety Regulations, 1996;
BE IT RESOLVED that SARM create flowcharts, templates, programs, and/or guidelines for the use by rural municipalities to ensure the promotion of a safety culture and the reduction of injuries in the municipal workplace.
