WHEREAS the Canadian agriculture sector has taken a financial setback on canola and hog commodities after the Chinese government announced the retaliation over the Huawei affair;


WHEREAS a huge portion of the prairie provinces are experiencing extreme drought and, barring any significant rainfall, a full-blown drought will be occurring across the three prairie provinces with a devasting effect on these provincial economies;


BE IT RESOLVED that SARM work with the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) and their provincial counterparts to join forces and lobby the federal and provincial governments for financial support for the agricultural commodities that were affected after the date the Chinese government announced their retaliation on the Huawei affair;


BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that SARM work with APAS and their Alberta and Manitoba counterparts to lobby the federal and provincial government for financial support for disaster in the grains, oilseeds, and livestock sectors under the Agri-Recovery program.
